Support Age Concern Auckland and Help Older Adults Thrive!
Age Concern Auckland is dedicated to ensuring every older adult in our community has the support they need to live with dignity, independence, and social connection. Every day, we work with thousands of older people, their families, and whānau across the Auckland region, providing life-changing services that address social isolation, elder abuse, and barriers to positive ageing.
Our wraparound support services foster resilience, improve physical and mental health, and strengthen community ties. From social work support and counselling to volunteer visiting and community activities, we work tirelessly to reconnect isolated older adults, ensuring they remain engaged and valued members of society. Our Ethnic Communities Team offers culturally tailored support in Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, and Hindi, helping older migrants feel included and empowered.
With only 35% of our funding covered by government support, we rely on the generosity of people like you. Your donation directly helps vulnerable older adults access the care, connection, and advocacy they deserve.
Together, we can create an age-friendly Auckland where no one is left behind!
Age Concern Auckland works with thousands of older people, their families/whanau, and organisations across Central and West Auckland – from those simply seeking advice and guidance to our most vulnerable elderly who are living in our communities.
It costs us almost $700,000 every year to deliver these crucial services to our community. We receive about one third of the necessary funding from the government. This means that we rely on the generosity of our local community to provide almost $500,000 each year.

Our Services 17 August 2017
We all know that we are getting older. So are the people we love. While this should be something we all celebrate, it can be tough. With an increasing number of major life changes, health challenges and the loss of loved ones, it is crucial that we have the support we need within reach.
At Age Concern Auckland, we are committed to promoting well-being, rights, respect and dignity for older people. We deliver a number of services that aim to empower communities. We also work hard to bring people from a position of vulnerability to one of resilience.
Our Services Include:
Accredited Visiting Service: Providing companionship and support for older people living independently in the community by matching them with a regular, volunteer visitor.
Elder Abuse and Neglect Prevention Service: Aims to improve the quality of life of older people in abusive situations and to prevent abuse by providing information, education programmes, advocacy and support.
Field Social Workers: Social Workers are available to support and assist older people with any social needs and health or well-being issues.
Total Mobility Scheme: Assesses and provides subsidised taxi cards to eligible people.
Community Education: Delivers a range of programmes and promotes positive ageing strategies so people can age in place and maintain a quality of life.
Minibus Service: takes people living in residential care for outings in the community.
