Help Little Andromeda build a new theatre!

Little Andromeda presents hundreds of new works each year from hundreds of established and emerging artists to 14,000 delighted audience members. We test new ideas, challenge status quos and (arguably) help to make Christchurch the coolest city in the country.

In July 2026 we found out we received $0 of Creative NZ funding. Despite other generous sponsors and funders, we can only last in our current place until Christmas 2026.

We have an awesome opportunity to rebuild on the Terrace in a new bigger and better spot (under the Terrace Carpark!)

We think we need to raise about $400k before we think about starting the build.

That's incredible 14 January 2026

Friends! 149 of you (between Givealittle and direct donations) have so very kindly donated us $53,232. We're actually floored and can't thank you enough. That's sorted us out for 2026 and now we're going to work as fast as we can to update some systems and then get shows live.

Of course, this isn't the end of all challenges for us forever, so donations are still gratefully received and we'll keep the Givealittle page open – but for now, you've saved us and we can't wait to reopen for you :-)
