Great Barrier Island Community Heritage and Arts Village Trust

Our Community Gallery has grown hugely since it first opened! We need a new way for our volunteers to record transactions - a POS system!

Auckland

We need to purchase a point of sale system, to upgrade and have our items bar coded and listed on a proper stock system. Currently all sales are written by hand in a sales book (No mean feat when you sell over 100 items in a day, and you're in your mid 70's) We are run by volunteers and the small commission made by the Gallery goes back into Kids Art Club, running exhibitions and educational events for the community. We will be funding part of the cost ourselves, but we need extra help!

More about us

The GBI Community Heritage and Arts Village Trust runs a Community Gallery on Great Barrier, providing vital income to island artists. We also run Kids Art Club, our Winter Arts workshop programme, Matariki celebrations with all the island children and parents, and have exhibitions and events throughout the year. We provide a workshop and meeting space for members of the community.

In 2019 we opened our third building which has been carefully restored to showcase Barrier history.

Use of funds

Funds raised will be used to purchase a point of sale system.
