Throughout the world someone is diagnosed with dementia every 3.2 seconds - here in New Zealand 7 people are diagnosed every day with dementia. The Trust continues in its role to ensure issues that concern people with dementia and their families are a research priority. Since 2009 we have annually distributed in total 17 grants for medical and/or social dementia research projects and plan to continue to do so. As a foundation sponsor for a network of Dementia Prevention Research clinics throughout New Zealand we are pleased that 3 clinics are now up and running - Auckland, Dunedin and Christchurch.
