Most men who use violence have known it themselves. As boys, growing up in homes where it felt normal because no one showed them another way. Rather than an excuse, this is where change should begin.

When a man voluntarily reaches out to RISE, he's choosing a different path for himself, for his tamariki, and his whānau.

RISE meets him without judgment. Through an assessment process, we get to know his story, his readiness, and what he needs. Then he begins his 16-week change journey.

Weekly group sessions, skilled facilitators, wraparound support, kai, and practical resources all help make lasting change possible.

When a man puts his hand up voluntarily, there’s no system backing him up. His journey runs entirely from private giving. Back a Bro is how we keep that door open for the next man who knocks on it.

• Mate: $15 a week puts kai on the table and resources in his hands.

• Bro: $40 a week for a year funds one man's whole journey.

• Legend: $100 a week for a year funds 2.5 complete journeys.
