We use horses as catalysts to engage with at risk youth, teaching them leadership, communication, managing anger and building resilience.
Hawke's Bay
Providing programmes for young people in need of nurturing and good role models. We use horses to teach non-aggressive ground handling skills, and also focus on healthy nutrition, good manners, virtues and positive behaviour. We also have an education centre for young people excluded from school where they can embark on correspondence education, cooking, gardening, music, woodwork and other skills.
Excluded students have been transitioned back to school, have gained employment and/or generally kept out of trouble. Young people with behavioural problems have found ways of moderating their behaviour, as reported by teachers and social workers.
We also rescue horses that go on to rescue kids.

Testing times for vulnerable children 14 July 2016
We have been told that funding for one of the organisations that sends a large number of at-risk children to us has had its funding cut, which means they can no longer use our services. We have taken a leap of faith and decided to carry the children to the end of the year so they won't miss out. If you can help in any way we would be extremely grateful. We will not let these kids down.
