Our mission is to help make the Bible accessible to everyone and to encourage interaction with it.
With the help of our supporters who partner with us, we’re able to play a part in changing lives all over New Zealand and around the world.
We do this through various programmes, events, campaigns, regional activities and by providing free Scriptures and resources where they're needed.
We also work together with churches and other Christian organisations to promote the active use of Scripture and have an extensive network of volunteers who join together to help promote the ministry and mission of Bible Society.
Many Bible Societies are in countries where there is little or no funding for Bible work and they rely on funds raised in other countries to make it possible.
We help supply Bibles and Scriptures in various formats, including audio, Braille and children’s editions in countries such as Israel, China, the South Pacific, former Soviet Countries and many more.
We’re also supporting some of the 500 Bible translation projects currently underway throughout the world.
More about us
We are a charity dedicated to helping make the Bible accessible to everyone and encouraging interaction with it. We do this by working with the whole Christian church.
Bible Society was established in New Zealand in 1846 and is a member of the United Bible Societies (UBS), a global network of Bible Societies operating in more than 200 countries and territories. Bible Societies co-operate to make the Bible available to people everywhere in a language they can understand and at a price they can afford.
We are a donor-supported organisation that depends on the prayers and financial support of Christian individuals and churches in New Zealand.
