Chefs for Compassion

Chefs for Compassion is expanding and needs resources to cope with growth. You can help!

Auckland

"Chefs for Compassion " aims to raise $10,000 for:

Costs associated with our Kiwi Kids Cooking Up Compassion project, in support of Auckland Women’s Refuge;

Costs to have student speakers to go from Auckland to Christchurch to present at 2021 Bullying Prevention Conference in Christchurch;

Finance expenses to run and host events to honour courageous families nominated by the organisations served by schools running our programmes;

Chefs for Compassion was formed to help shape kids into compassionate future leaders. Community leadership and a vaccine to aggressive behaviour, bullying is an outcome of participating.

Based in Auckland, we partner with intermediate schools and work with participating students while they create and serve a four-course banquet for selected groups of people.

While working in a some-what stressful kitchen environment, we encourage and invite students to be compassionate when under pressure, through a variety of skills and techniques.

As a result, national focus is on the work CfC is doing in schools and invitations extended for student participants to speak at conferences.

Your vital contribution will help fund a the growth of the next generation of community leaders, creating Compassionate Communities, so desperately needed in our increasing polarised world.

More about us

Chefs for Compassion is a project giving students a wonderful opportunity to engage in, and to experience compassion directly with their parents.

Teams of children, students, with their parents, have been contributing to nominated families from Salvation Army, Child Cancer, Women's Refuge, Open Home Foundation, Child Youth and Family and St Vincent de Paul, by preparing, cooking and serving special celebratory dinners to them.

The outcome of the dinners helps with restoring the dignity of nominated families, honoring them and showing they're worthy of a celebratory gourmet dinner which they choose, where they're served nothing but the very best.

Children, parents and recipient families have reported this as being a truly unique and richly rewarding experience in compassion for all involved.
