Crescendo Trust of Aotearoa

By giving a little today you support Crescendo's mentoring, educating, providing skills and opportunities empowering rangatahi to succeed.

Auckland

Crescendo offers music mentoring programmes to youth 15-24 to help build self esteem, self worth and provide pathways to future study or employment.

Crescendo's programmes and mentoring are run from a recording studio in Avondale, Auckland and mentors are all highly esteemed NZ Music professionals with a passion to pay it forward to the next generation.

We have worked with over 2,300 young people since we started in 2012. With your support we can continue to engage rangatahi and empower them to navigate their own waka.

More about us

Crescendo mentoring programmes are for youth aged 15-24. We provide the space, industry best equipment, software and opportunity to work with talented audio engineers, musicians and mentors who can engage with young adults through a medium they are interested in. Rangatahi come to us from a range of backgrounds and abilities, this does not define them. They can leave these labels at the door and focus on positive outlets and skills to improve their lives.

Crescendo is a healing place for rangatahi to express themselves, upskill in audio engineering, sound design, music production and recording, songwriting and creative industries and join a creative whanau. Through this experience they gain a support network and confidence in themselves to make positive choices for their own lives.

CTOA - A new way of working  2 June 2020

Posted by: Joanne Luxton

Thank you for your support of CTOA. It has been a challenging time for all during recent times. We are proud to say that through all this CTOA has maintained connection with our rangatahi and continue our mentoring programmes. Although our funding is a cause for concern we are continuing to make plans for the future. We are currently launching our Link Up programmes, offering more opportunities to our young people through a series of short courses on an even wider range of different creative pathways including Rap School, Merch School, Singer/Song Writer, Band School and much more.  We have also kicked off our Fast Forward series, providing our emerging creatives the chance to interact with some industry greats. Last week our rangatahi met with Heath Wynd from East-West Music. This week its a workshop with Joel Little, writing producer extraordinaire, the name behind Lorde, Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Khalid, Shawn Mendes and more.
