DSWW provides the Waterwise program to the seven participating primary schools on the Devonport Peninsula in a safe and fun environment.
Auckland
DSWW provides the training of new Waterwise Instructors of each of the participating schools each year, The Society also provides resources including written manuals and procedural guidelines and the Society must also organise funding for the purchasing and maintenance of the equipment used for the provision of the Waterwise program.
The last major investment in our optimists, patrol boats, and kayaks happened ten years ago, and the wear from almost daily use over half of each year means that this equipment is reaching the end of its service life. Our challenge and goal over the next two years is to raise $100,000, so that we can purchase 16 new optimist dinghies, their rigging, 3 new inflatable patrol boats, 10 new kayaks, and a refreshed collection of buoyancy aids and wetsuits.
Providing the Waterwise Program to the seven local schools on the Devonport Peninsula - Bayswater, Belmont Primary, Devonport, Hauraki, St Leo's Catholic School, Stanley Bay and Vauxhall Schools. We are 100% run by volunteers.
