Digital Natives Academy, a non-profit, was established in 2014 to encourage young people wanting to enter the digital tech industry the power to create, transform, shape and develop their own digital tools.
DNA’s vision is to inspire the next generation of digital leaders. We do this through three pou; coding, animation and esports. Our foundation is based on a Te Ao Māori worldview and we provide Kaupapa Māori and Matauranga Māori programme delivery.
We provide free programmes to schools, at-risk youth and the community.
Our goal is to create career pathways for whānau who don’t have access to technology. We do this to inspire them to become makers and innovators of technology, rather than users and consumers of it.
Our Strategic Pou:
Coding: Coding & Game Dev helps you think creatively, strengthen problem-solving skills, work collaboratively and reason systematically.
Animation/Content Creation: The future of work is digital. We help young people understand the pathways that lead to careers in the digital tech industry.
Esports: Gaming is our gateway into professional esports, and understanding the impact wellbeing has on a competitive high performance mindset.
Wellbeing: Providing tools and guidance for young people and the communities that support them to become resilient and healthy humans.
