Aotearoa Disability Law (ADL): Standing Up for Deaf and Disabled Peoples rights.

In 2007, a group of passionate advocates saw that that there was a need for a legal service in New Zealand that focussed specifically on the disability related legal needs of the Deaf and Disability community. The Community Law Centre network called for change — and ADL was born.

Today, we’re still the only national community law centre dedicated solely to Deaf and Disability-related legal issues. We cover all of Aotearoa offering legal services, education, and pushing for long-term law reform.

ADL isn’t just about casework — it’s about community, equity, and systemic change. Guided by our strategic plan, ‘Disability Law 2028’, we’re building a truly national service — for all Deaf and Disabled New Zealanders, no matter where they live in New Zealand.

But we can’t do it alone.

Your donation helps us expand our reach, fight discrimination, and empower Deaf and Disabled people to stand up for their rights. Together, we can build a more just, inclusive Aotearoa.
