Wellington
Founded in 2000, Enjoy Contemporary Art Space is an independent not-for-profit art space located on Cuba Street, in the creative heart of Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington. We are dedicated to developing Aotearoa’s next generation of contemporary artists and active arts audiences.
Enjoy plays a key role in the Wellington art community, supporting both emerging and established artists, writers and curators to develop their work and connecting that work with new audiences. We are an entry point into the arts for curious and creative people.
Our kaupapa is carried out through an annual studio residency, monthly exhibitions, talks, workshops, publications and other events. Over the past 17 years, Enjoy has worked with more than 430 artists, published work by over 160 writers, and presented more than
200 exhibitions.
Unlike many arts experiences in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, all of our energetic programmes are completely free to attend.
Enjoy works to provide the necessary critical support, resources, and audience development to realise quality projects in dialogue with contemporary practice both nationally and internationally. We foster the development of artists and writers with open calls for exhibitions, public programmes, a reading room, a summer residency and publishing programme that extends both into printed matter and online.
