Factum Education Foundation

Kia Ora, and a warm welcome to all. It's 2016 are we're very excited to launch the Factum Programmes across Aotearoa! Factum programmes are aimed at secondary school students, to raise academic achievement and reduce unqualified school leaving, at no cost to the student or their family.

Leaving school unqualified has a massive influence in the relationship between under-achievement and youth unemployment, specifically problematic in lower socio-economic regions, where academic achievement rates are low and unemployment rates are up.

The Factum programmes offer motivational councelling to secondary school students, as well as professional development for teachers and schools. Our programmes are light, simple and effective, designed using the latest research in educational and motivational psychology.

The Factum programmes make a huge impact in the lives of individuals, with a simple philosophy of self-determination. We believe that the key to success lies in autonomy:

"If we do what we do because we want to, rather than doing it because we have to, we are more likely to put our heart into it"

Funds that are raised for this charity are used to bring the Factum programmes into New Zealand communities. Counsellors are required to travel to schools, where they will host one on one motivational sessions for lower performing students and/or students that are at risk of dropping out. Specifically, funds that are raised on this page are used for travel, accommodation and wages of employees. Funds may also be directed to the running costs of the office, including rent, administration, accounting, marketing and online services.

Through helping students take responsibility of their own lives, they are ultimately taking control of their own destiny. Our counsellors are facilitators of learning, treating all persons as individuals, holding a non-bias approach. Through driving young people to believe in themselves, the Factum Education Foundation is paving a new path for future generations, as we strive towards the true value of education as a public good.
