For REPORTS that speak to Hum's work, the value of the work and the deficient foundation work we have a Claim against the landlord for.
---Who We are ----
We are a historic villa in Grafton in which the community has invested in to restore. We have people who live on site in a "Salon" concept opening up the front two lounges for free to use intimate community meet-ups like: weekly self-kindness meditation, monthly drawfest gatherings and yoga.
We also host free to come activities on site to engage the community and bring people together in a positive uplifting environment; including poetry events, music evenings, philosophical discussions and other meet-ups facilitated by volunteers to bring well-being to people through positive connection.
We have a small garden cafe run by volunteers in a cute little kiosk at the front of the property; a garden cafe. The cafe is a connection point for people and any monies made goes back to the community initiatives.
HUM and Falling Apple Charitable Trust offer a facilitated community space in a historic villa restored by us for people and different interest groups to use as they desire; a place for people to engage from all walks of life in a disengaged world. We run a cafe and engage continuously in further internal restoration of the villa and its gardens.
Update for HUM and Falling Apple need for donations 19 March 2021
We need urgent funds to pay for lawyers and other finances to keep the Hum secure! Hum has been notified that the lease has been cancelled earlier this year. By the time Hum could get to grips with what was happening a Possession Application was taken and the Bailiffs arrived to take possession. Hum has investment in the villa, to make it habitable and we were on a long-term lease 20 years - with 10 years left on it. The landlord has now cancelled the lease, so we have lost the investment and the long-term lease.
We believe this is unfair and we need help to fundraise for a good legal team to help us defend against the landlord, where the first legal step is to avoid eviction. We have retained a lawyer where we need a $10,000 deposit to be paid before commencement. Charges may exceed this but this is the deposit required at this junction.
We appreciate so much any help, no matter how small! Please support us to bring justice for hum and keep the community investment secure!
