Forward Foundation's mission is to grow girls’ potential by creating development and leadership opportunities through sport

Founded in 2012, Forward Foundation is registered with the New Zealand Charities Commission. We’re all about inspiring the next generation of young female leaders in New Zealand through sport.

We run a series of initiatives across New Zealand that encourage high school aged girls to get involved in sport, and leverage the potential in our young leaders to inspire those around them to do the same.

We don’t think it’s fair that anyone should miss out. That’s why we’ve put together combined teams of rugby, football, futsal and cricket in Canterbury, for girls who want to play but whose school doesn’t offer it. Girls from across the region come together in the weekly interschool competitions or tournaments as a team. The result – everyone who wants to play, gets to play.

Our Ambassador Programme aims to increase participation in girls’ sports by identifying aspirational young female leaders and helping them on their leadership journey. This enables them to inspire those around them to participate in sport and make new friends along the way.
