Ensuring the Geraldine local community remain 50% shareholders in the Geraldine Health Hub at 190 Talbot Street, Geraldine
Geraldine, Canterbury
The Geraldine District Foundation is committed to providing 50% local community ownership of the Geraldine Health Hub. Since the project inception in 2019 when the Trustees were tasked with securing the funds to build the new facility situated on the site of the old Town & Country Club.
This property had been purchased by the Geraldine Licensing Trust, who in turn set up the Geraldine District Foundation and appointed three trustees who were to run the foundation independently.
The Trustees being Jimmy Wallace a retired Lawyer, Rosie Morten an ex-community board member, and Wayne O'Donnell a businessman and community board member. This year Juliet Marsden an Audiologist has joined the foundation as a new Trustee.
The total project cost at 190 Talbot St, Geraldine is $5.4M and the Geraldine District Foundation on behalf of the local community wants to maintain 50% ownership. The project is nearing completion and the foundation has a shortfall of approximately $250,000 towards the contribution.
Our partners want to support the foundation to reach the 50% goal.
