The Manukau Marae has for many years been a safe and sacred place to go to, for the many whanau/families who come from this area.
Northland
The Manukau Marae is in need of a new ablution block to accommodate the many whanau/families and friends who come here to use it. The hau kainga/home people, have worked hard to get a funding application under way and to start the planning process. This is now happening and we are looking for extra funds to support the new ablution block. These funds will go towards helping with the building project and also the furnishings required to make it a beautiful place for everyone to use. Thank you for your kind support.
Manukau Marae is situated in the Far North approximately 22km south west of Kaitaia. Manukau Marae provides cultural support for Maori and non Maori to remember and celebrate significant events such as tangihanga, birthdays, unveillings, weddings, meetings, school events, prize givings, Marae noho, seminars and training events.
It is time to build a new ablution block to support the growing number of whanau hapu and iwi & community members who use the Marae for their gatherings. Some of the funds have been raised and the plans have been drawn up. The total amount needed to make this a reality is $100,000. You can support by donating through this page. Thank you for your support and please encourage others to donate also.
