The Hibiscus Coast Youth Centre works to empower and strengthen youth and their families.
Auckland
The Hibiscus Coast Youth Centre is a non profit charitable trust located next to the Orewa Skate Park. Over the past three years, the Youth Centre has grown dramatically and provides a "safe space" that is drug and alcohol free for over 700 youths each week.
The Safe space provided for the local youths is a space to meet new people, engage with youth mentors and hang out in an environment free from negative pressures and influences.
The safe space initiative is also an initiative to reduce petty crime on the Hibiscus Coast and re-direct negative behaviors.
The Youth Centre also provides a Suicide Prevention program with a trained counselor available daily as well as having a good group of networking systems in place.
The Youth Centre maintains a healthy relationship with the local Police and Child Youth and Family, for referrals, advice and collaboration where it is needed.
The Youth centre also has programs available for the younger ones, aged 5-13 years old. These programs are after school care programs, and holiday programs. Both programs are highly active and are run by our super awesome staff.
We are in consistent need for financial support to ensure these programs continue to run for the community on the Hibiscus Coast. Funds go towards things such as building maintenance, youth cafe facility upgrades, youth excursions, staff wages etc.
Help your local youth by donating to us now so we can continue supporting the local youth and their families!
