The Heretaunga Women’s Centre is a not-for-profit Incorporated Society and relies on donations to be able to offer a range of services. There are many ways to support the Centre, from one-off donations, to regular giving and partnerships with local organisations. Your support means a lot to the women in our community.

    One off donations

To make a donation, please choose one of the following options: Deposit your donation directly into our bank account 03-0642-0730099-00. Please include your name and the word ‘Donation’ in the reference details. Post your donation to Heretaunga Women’s Centre, PO Box 780, Hastings. Cheques payable to Heretaunga Women’s Centre. Or donate through Give-a-Little. All donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be provided.

    Regular giving

Some employers offer a ‘payroll giving’ service which gives you the opportunity to donate money directly from your pay to the Centre, and at the same time receive immediate tax credits. Not all organisations offer this option so please check with your employer to see if this is something they can support. If they are happy to set this up for you, please get in touch with us at the Centre to discuss.

    Bequests and legacies

Remembering the Heretaunga Women’s Centre in your Will is a wonderful way to assist us to care for people. Your support will help us to continue to make a positive difference. Please speak to one of the team at the Centre by visiting us or calling us on 06 878 5401 for advice on setting this up.

    Corporate partnerships

We welcome relationships with local businesses that have similar goals to our own. It’s a chance for your business to get involved with the community and raise your profile. In return, your ongoing support allows us to continue delivering our much-loved programmes to the women of Hawke’s Bay. We’re very open to discussing how our organisations can work together for our mutual benefit. If you would like to discuss how we can work together, please get in touch.

  • Who We Are

      26 May 2015

At HWC we work collectively for positive change for women. We believe in sharing skills and strengths to provide women with resources to take responsibility for their own wellbeing and a safe environment for support and companionship.

The Centre started life in 1921 as a Women’s Rest: a place where women could come to rest, feed their babies and take lunch with friends. Over the years thousands have welcomed the location of the nursery and toilets.

Today, we also offer confidential, non-judgemental support in the form of fun social groups and services such as counselling and legal advice. Have a look at what we offer, and come in to see us next time you’re nearby.

    Be welcomed, inspired and empowered.
