Heretaunga Women's Centre – Together we are Stronger

Heretaunga Women’s Centre is open Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 4.00pm, providing a safe, supportive space where women can connect, learn and grow. Our wide range of programmes and services includes personal and professional development workshops, health and wellness activities, therapies, support groups, cervical screening and legal clinics. We also offer high-quality, confidential counselling with fully qualified counsellors and a short waiting list.

Visitors have free access to our library of resources, and we provide referrals to other community and advocacy services as required. Our Centre is equipped with bathroom facilities, a baby changing area, and a playroom for mothers and infants, ensuring a welcoming environment for all.

Our services are available at low or no cost, making them accessible to all women, regardless of financial circumstances. We warmly welcome all wāhine to our Centre, fostering a community built on connection, support and empowerment.

Our Fundraising Efforts

We are currently seeking funds to help cover our operational costs to keep the Centre running smoothly. This includes essential day-to-day costs such as salaries, power, telephones, equipment and the running costs of programmes.

While we have a small team of paid staff, the majority of our services are delivered by a dedicated team of volunteers. The Centre relies entirely on donations and community support to continue offering these vital services.

Your contribution will help ensure we can continue to provide essential services and support to women in our community. Thank you for your generosity.
