Heretaunga Womens Centre

The Heretaunga Womens Centre is a community hub for women located in central Hastings. Women are welcomed into our Centre in the spirit of warmth, friendship and helpfulness.

We provide a comprehensive range of courses and services - all are low cost and affordable.

Our services include counselling, courses/activities, therapies, financial and legal advice, programmes, support groups, support and referrals and access to resources and wellbeing practitioners as well as a feed and play room for mothers and infants.

Open Monday to Friday 9 - 4 we welcome all women to join us for fellowship, fun and self development

Every year the Heretaunga Women's Centre provide a low cost and often no cost counselling service to women in the Hastings area and broader Hawkes Bay. Women frequently come to us because they are unable to pay for counselling (average costs for sessions with professional counsellors are $80-$100 per session). Our kaupapa is to never turn anyone away who is in need. All of our counsellors are fully qualified and volunteer their time to support women in need in the community. To support our counsellors and maintain a professional service the Centre pays for clinical supervision monthly for all counsellors.

We are fundraising to help pay our operational costs and to keep the centre running. Often we have times when we fundraise for special projects but following Covid 19 we would like to put our fundraising efforts into our day to day operations.
