Support us to finish a new playground accessible for all. We’re nearly there – but we need your help to add the final magical touches.
Hamilton, Waikato
Support us to finish a new playground accessible to everyone. Thanks to a huge community effort we’re most of the way there – with the first stage ready to open soon. But we need your help to add the final magical touches that will remove barriers for individuals and families with disabilities. Our goal is to build play spaces where everyone can enjoy the magic of play.
Support the Magical Bridge Trust to bring to life New Zealand’s first Magical Bridge playground - accessible and inclusive to all.
1.1 million of us, or nearly one in every four New Zealanders, has a disability. In the Waikato, more than 120,000 people live with some type of disability. And, within a 1.5 hour’s drive of Hamilton, another 600,000 individuals have some type of disability, whether visible or not.
Located at Claudelands Park in Hamilton, the playground will provide the greater Waikato with a place where all ages and all abilities can play in a safe, kind, and supported environment. Designed to be an inclusive and accessible space for the one in four Kiwis who have a visible or invisible disability, their whanau and friends, and the general community.
Regardless of age or ability, the playground provides a place where community and friendship are celebrated in a safe and supported environment.
Hamilton City Council is taking a bold new step in partnering with the Magical Bridge Trust to deliver the city's first fully inclusive playground.
