Kaikoura Wildlife Centre Trust

Beyond founding Project WellBird to progress the Kaikōura Wildlife Hospital vision, the Trust established Project BlueBird to provide urgent preventative care and habitat protection to Little Penguins/Kororā, including ongoing emergency care. The only remaining colony is receiving effective protection, with the Trust developing reserves to safeguard remnant pairs. The Trust is focused on directly aiding endangered White-Flippered Penguins and declining Blue Penguins, which are on the brink of local extinction in Kaikōura.
