Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust (KEECT)

Empowering through education! Your donation/sponsorship will help students reach their goals, helping them, their families & communities.

Auckland

Education provides opportunity and has the power to create better outcomes. It can inspire and impact whānau and communities. It must be accessible to all regardless of socio-economic factors or gender.

Without assistance from The KEECT, many of the awardees would not be able to access further education and realise their academic potential. Individual awards range in value from $2000 to $18,000 across a wide range of genres and criteria such as discipline specific, geographical, qualification and institution.

The Trust is named in recognition of Kate Milligan Edger (1857-1935), who in 1877 was the first woman to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in New Zealand and the second in the British Empire.
