Kawau Volunteer Coastguard needs your help to replace our boat so that we can keep on saving lives at sea.
Northland
We all think it won’t happen to us, but Kawau Rescue and her volunteer crew are called out to help local boaties every 3 days on average. Sometimes to save a life, sometimes for a quick assist in benign conditions. Here's an example:
Email received February 2023
"Hi there. We had a rescue from your Kawau team yesterday due to my poor seamanship because of running out of 2-stroke oil. Your team were there very quickly and had us back to our ramp without further incident. They were super calm, friendly and helpful, so we just wanted to send a quick thank you for helping us out."
Kawau Volunteer Coastguard’s rescue boat, Kawau Rescue, has worked tirelessly for the past 11 years performing hundreds of missions. But now she is worn out and isn’t as reliable as she used to be. She needs replacing so that she can perform hundreds more.
Thank you for your donation.
