The Loft is a collaboration where barriers are broken, stories are heard, and whānau create pathways to stronger, healthier futures.
Canterbury
The Loft is a unique partnership of community, social, and health agencies working side by side to improve the wellbeing of tamariki, rangatahi, whānau, and communities. By bringing services together under one roof, we remove the barriers that too often prevent people from getting the help they need.
At the heart of our mahi is the Social Emergency Response Service (SERS). Unlike traditional services, SERS doesn’t ask people to “self-diagnose” their needs. Instead, we listen to their stories. This approach helps uncover the links between challenges like mental health, domestic violence, finances, and housing – enabling people to create sustainable plans for the future, rather than just short-term fixes.
Located at the heart of Christchurch’s eastern community, The Loft is a safe and welcoming space where anyone can walk in and access support immediately – no appointment needed.
