Empowering Canterbury Tamariki with neurological conditions to build functional mobility, communication, and lifelong independence.
Christchurch, Canterbury
Kia Kaha Neuro-Habilitation Foundation is a registered NZ charity (CC65109) at 13 Tyne Street, Addington.
We celebrate every child and every body. Our movement sessions are for tamariki of all abilities and their whānau, and every child is welcome. No referral or diagnosis is needed.
Each child works on one movement that matters to them: rolling, sitting, shifting their weight, taking a step, walking to school. We break it into small steps, and they practise it often, in small groups, with a coach beside them. Our equipment lets a child feel straight away when they've got it right, and that feeling is the reward. It's joyful, and it keeps them coming back.
What a child gains is their own body potential, which they keep for life: the confidence and skills to join in with classmates, at school, at camp and in sport. Whānau learn simple ways to keep practising at home, and we celebrate every milestone together.
WHY YOUR GIFT MATTERS
Cost should never decide whether a child gets to take part. Families pay a reduced $30 per session, and we raise the rest through grants and donations like yours. Your gift helps cover that difference, plus the pool hire, equipment and space that make our sessions possible.
We're a brand-new charity, registered in August 2026, and every dollar helps us welcome more families.
Thank you for backing the children of Canterbury.
Kia kaha.
