Learning Differences Aotearoa Trust runs support programmes Dyslexia Support South, Growing Stars and the Adult Dyslexia Support Group.
Dyslexia Support South is a support group for parents and caregivers of children with learning differences. They provide unbiased and professional information through the website, information evenings, e-newsletters and are available for email and phone queries.
Growing Stars is a workshop for children aged 6 to 12 years to help them identify and manage the emotional impact of living with a learning difference and learning difficulty.
Learning Differences Aotearoa Trust has identified four core principles to focus on
• Assisting the growth and development of people regardless of what they bring to learning
• Promoting acceptance and understanding of learning differences
• Providing the tools for learning and strategies to meet personal learning needs, and
• Promoting self confidence and understanding that ability is developed
