With all the new construction now finished on the Link Pathway, our focus shifts to improving areas damaged by storms, and over-all maintenance.

Currently over 1,300 people per week use the pathway, and this number will increase once people learn how great it is!

To maintain the Link Pathway we rely on donations through the Link Pathway Trust Givealittle page.

If you enjoy the Link Pathway, please donate so we can keep it in good condition.

  • Storm Damage to Link Pathway

      17 August 2021

The Link Pathway Trust is really grateful for over 70 donations totaling almost $10,000 since the storm on17 July.

Since the storm, we have assessed all the damage, and developed a strategy for getting less damaged sections open asap. Volunteers have been working hard clearing mud and debris between Anakiwa and Picton. This 24 kilometre section is usable again, though narrow and muddy in some short areas.

We have also made a start on the more severely damaged Mahakipawa Hill section, with our small digger beginning the massive task of clearing slips, and work beginning on repairing some washed out culverts and stream crossings.

Where the damaged pathway is close to the damaged road, the repairs are particularly tricky, and we will need to have Marlborough Roads cooperation and help in restoring both road and pathway. Some of these areas of pathway will take considerable time and money to repair.

    Your donations are hugely appreciated!

  • Storm Damage to Link Pathway

      22 July 2021

The extreme weather event of 17 & 18 July has caused significant damage to the Link Pathway. As a result the entire pathway is closed, except for a short section in Havelock.

Once the damage has been fully assessed, a strategy will be developed to get sections open again as soon as possible.

This will require time, effort, and of course funds. Our entire team of workers, volunteers, and supporters are committed to restoring the Link Pathway, and your donation is hugely appreciated. Thank you!

Such a shame not long after the bridge way was completed.

Really enjoyed this track last summer. As I’m involved with track building and maintenance I appreciated all the hard work required to build such a great ride.

      More than happy to givealittle.

It would be great to see how much money has been donated and what the actual goal is/was. Maybe somebody can inform us.
