Supporting communities to create, perform, connect, and belong through the transformative magic of art.
Hamilton, Waikato
Imagine if art didn't exist.
No music. Ever. No songs at funerals or weddings. No bands in bars, clubs, or community events. No school productions. No kapa haka. No paintings on walls. No books beside the bed.
No tamariki performing for their whaanau in the living room. No aspiring actors, musicians, fashion designers, architects, writers, or creatives dreaming about what they might become.
A world without art would be quieter, less colourful, and less connected. It would be a world without many of the experiences that help us celebrate, grieve, learn, express ourselves, and understand each other.
Now imagine how many creative minds the world never gets to experience because of the barriers they face to participation. How many songs never written. How many performances never shared. How many stories never told?
LOUD Creative exists to break down and address those barriers through producing theatre and community arts programmes, providing advocacy, and delivering the annual Waikato Queer Arts Festival (WQAF). We create spaces where people build confidence, develop skills, tell their stories, and find belonging.
Today, we're growing WQAF, creating sustainable arts employment, and re-launching Full Volume, an accessible performing arts programme for people with disabilities.
Your donation helps us create opportunities for more people to participate in the arts in the Waikato. Because art isn't a luxury. It's part of what makes us human. And everyone deserves a place in it.
LOUD Creative delivers inclusive arts programmes, theatre productions, and the Waikato Queer Arts Festival, while advocating for greater access and representation. We exist because everyone deserves to belong.
