Canine companions helping drive change for at-risk youth

Hamilton, Waikato

Led by Matt, a former NZ Police veteran turned Youth Aid officer, the Healing Paws Program harnesses the healing power of dogs to support at-risk youth. With 23 years of service, including as a Police dog handler, Matt brings unparalleled dedication to transforming young lives. His innovative approach, recognized with the Evidence Based Policing award, leverages the bond between dogs and humans to build confidence, break down barriers, and foster positive change. Lachie and Chip, the program's canine companions, are at the heart of this mission, helping youth find hope and resilience. As we aim to expand this impactful program, we invite you to join us. Your support can extend Matt's vision, offering more young individuals a chance to heal and grow through the love of canine friends. Together, we can rewrite futures with hope and unconditional love.
