Support us continue providing therapy riding services to people with a range of physical, emotional and intellectual disabilities.
Feilding, Manawatu-Wanganui
Manawatu RDA provides horse riding therapy services to people experiencing disabilities in our community.
We are on the outskirts of Feilding in Manawatu. Our riders come from district, Palmerston North & Southern Rangitikei.
Thanks to our community support, Manawatu RDA serves 50-60 RDA-programme riders annually with a wide range of physical, emotional and intellectual disabilities. Our dedicated team of around 45 volunteers assist with riding the eight horses in our programme. We have a further 10 people who help with repairs and maintenance around the property.
Year after year we strive to be the best we can be, to deliver quality safe programmes to our riders.
The riding instruction provided under the RDA banner is like no other. It is individualised goal-based riding activities that increase the ability, strength and confidence of people with physical, intellectual, emotional and or social challenges. Each ride is equivalent to the rider attending a physiotherapist, occupational therapist and speech therapist session all in one.
Our focus is to make a positive difference. Our vision is to reach more riders and change more lives.
We are an incorporated society with Charitable status but have no government funding support. We have annual costs of around $140,000 and we rely on support from Grants and on the generosity of donors.
Your donation will help provide life changing opportunities for disabled riders and their families through therapy based horse riding activities.
Affiliated to NZ RDA , are the only RDA in the Manawatu and Rangitikei. We operate from our own property, with just under 4ha of grazing. We have a large arena and an administration block. We have approximately 75 riders in our programmes.
