Help sought to fund unexpected illness and injury treatment costs for our horses.
Feilding, Manawatu-Wanganui
At Manawatū Riding for the Disabled our finances can be put under pressure by unexpected horse medical expenses relating to illness or injury.
A couple of years ago a horse had to have her eye removed after about six weeks of intensive treatment in an effort to save it.
The whole exercise cost over $5,000, but she came back and is now one of our riders' favourites. She has a special place in the heart of one of our little riders because "she is disabled like me"!
Another one of our horses is facing an unrelated eye issue that is proving difficult to get right but we are working on it with the Vets.
We are therefore seeking donations for a fund to help cover unexpected horse illness or injury costs as well as for replacement horses. This is to ensure we are equipped to provide the best outcomes for our horses and ultimately for our riders.
Every donation, no matter how small, makes a significant difference.
Thank you for your generosity and support!
