In 2023 we have increased the number of Myanmar migrant children we support. With 280 children in primary and secondary education we estimate the need to increase special support from 40 to 80 of the poorest families. $20 per month ($10 tuition and $10 transport) gives much brighter futures. Check out the start of the new school year for our Myanmar migrant children at Marist Asia Foundation https://www.facebook.com/maristasiafoundation/posts/pfbid0bgV6aBFyBq9N51HmcMbazczv2q8pBFGVjTNaLonZNwWd7YP3CPRxT9LTSMkhpV1Dl?__cft__[0]=AZW1yAHrPhDHnon6-kELl5ovidr2h8NopXcYCNFRRG59TqnFujw8SajSDy-qxDorDOww5TzB86wowz7MVpn2tmxQX6PzuQUzmT-tV8AJTGGY0bhKrODjVPfjl4oagMfFaSYroCMvoPEvyACP8Q44BiITsVmIVkKiT79WBF95ZKz7OY5IvfgU6STcXLKwYE45uls&__tn__=%2CO%2CP-R

  • Great news, great challenge!

      25 March 2014

67 new Burmese Migrant students sat an entrance test to join the Secondary Education Programme recently. That is twice as many as we have ever had. This great news also brings a great challenge. We have been working hard and have had many support us. We are halfway there. We need a further $50,000 to ensure we can meet the budget total. We'll be posting some more photos and updates on our facebook page to keep you informed. Our aim in the next month is to try and encourage 200 people to become monthly supporters - $20 per month will get us there. Share this opportunity with your friends. We'll send a monthly photo and story how your change makes a huge difference. Thanks. Keep connected by becoming a friend http://www.maristthailand.org/newsletter/

  • Support A Teacher - Marist Mission Ranong

      18 September 2013

Thanks again to our friends and supporters of the Marist Mission in Ranong. Soon we will send out a newsletter to share some of our stories from this year and our hopes for next year. Yes, its that time of year when we plan for 2014. Did you know the salary of 1 teacher in New Zealand can provide for 12 teachers on the Thailand Burma Border! $5,000 pays for a teacher to help educate hundreds of Burmese Migrant Children. Its a great investment. You may like to consider sharing this need with a group of friends and together help not only 1 teacher but hundreds of Burmese children receive an education. Keep connected with our weekly stories at www.facebook.com/maristmissionranong

  • Support us for 2014

      23 August 2013

We completed the Marist Centre and have some plans in progress for the future playground and kitchen and some cupboards and furniture to make the Centre become a 'Home'. As we look forward to 2014 our Education programmes need support to pay for teachers. A donation to support a teacher benefits hundreds of Burmese Children now and for their future! Its quite possibly the best investment one could make to provide education and a step out of poverty. We appreciate every donation!
