For over 40 years, Methven House has cared for, housed and supported Methven's elderly. The current building on Morgan Street, however, is rapidly coming to the end of its useable life.

For a town with less than 2000 people, it's a huge achievement that Methven continues to offer an independent community-run resthome.

Thanks to the support of generous donors, Methven Care Trust is extremely proud to now offer apartments for independent living in Methven's first retirement village, Methven Central, as well as a care home that provides peace of mind with a continuum of care if needed. We are incredibly proud of our community, which has worked tirelessly to create this village. It allows retirees to stay close to their family and friends within the community they love, living the life that suits them best in their later years, in their own home, their way.

This special project is the result of a decade-long effort by many passionate volunteers. It continues the tradition of care at Methven House, our much-loved rest home, by building a modern, well equipped care home to replace a 100-year-old building that required costly maintenance and repairs.

The new aged care facility will be larger with potential of additions to the complex over time. In our final stages of our build, we need $1,000,000 more in donations to ensure a debt free complex on opening in Mid 2025.
