Auckland
Reducing the rate of infant mortality, the spread of STD's and building community facilities in Vanuatu.
We have renovated the maternity unit in Port Vila, built a community shelter, supplied medical supplies to Tanna Hospital, run sexual and basic health classes in the islands and much more.
UPDATE - THE SHELTER 6 May 2015
We have been able to get in touch with our friends in Vanuatu. The Shelter, described here: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11228274 and which our funds helped build, is gone. Food is available but expensive, aid is not getting to the far islands. Chris Likeman is going up in September and wants to take seeds, bras, knickers and feminine hygiene products. Your donations have been transferred to Vanuatu and used to buy necessities. The focus of future donations will be rebuilding the shelter.
