Help Migrants Settle, Learn, and Belong in New Zealand
Starting a new life in a new country is not easy. Many migrants and former refugees arrive in New Zealand full of hope but face big challenges. They often struggle with language barriers, understanding local systems, finding jobs, and feeling isolated.
At Migrant Learning Hub Trust, we believe everyone deserves to feel welcome and confident in their new home. Based in Hamilton, we support migrant adults and families through free and low-cost programmes that build English, digital, work, and life skills.
Our friendly classes and workshops help people:
Improve their English for daily life, work, and study
Learn how to use computers, phones, and online tools
Understand how things work in New Zealand – from healthcare and housing to job interviews and school systems
Meet others, share experiences, and feel part of a community
Every week, learners come together to connect, grow, and support each other. Our programmes are practical, caring, and culturally safe. We listen to what our learners need and design activities that make a real difference in their lives.
But we can’t do it alone.
Your donation helps us continue this important work. It goes towards learning resources, digital tools, internet access, tutor support, and running free classes for those who need it most. With your support, we can reach more families and create more pathways for migrants to thrive in Aotearoa.
Please help us build a stronger and more connected community!
Migrant Learning Hub empowers migrant communities in Hamilton and online throughout NZ through inclusive, skills-based programmes that foster confidence, connection, and lifelong learning for successful settlement, belonging, and community participation.
