ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
The Mistletoe Charitable Foundation was set up in February 2017. Its purpose is to provide financial assistance for families who cannot afford for their child to experience the outdoor education programmes at Mistletoe Bay Eco-Village. This experience should be accessible to all children but cost is a known barrier for some families.
FOUNDATION GOALS
The Foundation has established a fund to enable school-aged youth in New Zealand to have the opportunity to experience the educational, societal, and environmental programmes offered at Mistletoe Bay. This will enhance the well-being, values, and prospects for the future generations of New Zealanders.
The Foundation intends to raise $500,000 and help up to 240 children a year. These children will be supported by the Foundation and benefit from the outdoor education programmes at Mistletoe Bay.
The Foundation hope to raise enough capital to allow it to distribute funds on an annual basis from interest earned. That means your donations doesn't just help one child, but it will provide on-going support to the next generation of New Zealanders.
WHO BENEFITS
It is widely recognised that there are a number of under-privileged youth throughout New Zealand. These children have the potential to grow from the learning experiences offered by the Mistletoe Bay. As these young people advance through life, this growth and learning will not be limited to just themselves but will flow through to have a positive influence amid the lives of all those they live and work with.
