Mount Maunganui Lifeguard Service

Mount Maunganui Lifeguard Service

Mount Maunganui Lifeguard Service has been providing volunteer surf lifeguarding to the Mount Maunganui coastline since 1929.

Bay of Plenty

Mount Maunganui Lifeguard Service provides over 500 hours of volunteer lifeguarding on one of NZ's busiest beaches every year. We receive no direct central or local funding and are reliant on donations form the public to retain these services and foster fitter faster lifeguards through our National Champion surfsports team and develop the lifeguards of tomorrow in our Junior surf "nippers" programme.

More about us

Mount Maunganui Lifeguard service has been providing volunteer lifeguard patrols on Main Beach Mount Maunganui and surrounds since 1929. The club also has thriving surfsports and junior (Nippers) programmes dedicated to developing fitter faster lifeguards and also the lifeguards of the future. Surflifesaving clubs do not receive direct funding from either central or local government and so rely heavily on the donations of those who care about keeping our coastline safe.
