My Future Rocks

“All you need is one person to believe in you”. A simple but true statement. How lucky am I? Every day, I get to meet and work with a range of people from many walks of life and backgrounds. Each with their own stories, but they all share one common goal. They are making conscious decisions today to create better futures for tomorrow. Getting qualified, and a trade behind you creates a future with unlimited opportunities. It all starts with an apprenticeship and a person believing in you. I know my work can change a person’s life for the better forever.

Here at MFR, we are a (very) small team, so each one of us needs to be ready to roll our sleeves up, at times learn a new skillset and just get on with it. We have goals to achieve and people counting on us. In my old life, I did not picture myself working for a charitable trust, but a change in circumstance, a new opportunity and WOW! Now I am doing something I love, something tangible and rewarding for all of us involved.

My obsession – people! By nature, I am an introvert, but I love to see people loving life. And food. Mix people sharing food and I am at my happiest. My ideal Sunday is spending the day outdoors, getting into nature with friends or sourcing ingredients and then coming home in the afternoon and learning a new recipe to cook and share.

Guilty pleasure – pork crackling and apple sauce.
