Ngataki School

We are raising funds for a trip to visit Wellington in March 2016 to experience city life and visit some of the capital's many attractions.

Northland

The staff of Te Hapua and Ngataki Schools are planning to take their students on a trip to Wellington in Term 1, 2016. This will be the first time that many of our students and whanau have been beyond Auckland.

Our schools can be found at the top of the North Island in small rural communities and share the same principal.

The purpose of this visit is to show our students how these isolated communities in the Far North connect to the rest of New Zealand and therefore how they can connect as well. The trip is also intended to show our students that there are many opportunities for them to further their studies outside of Te Hapua and Ngataki, and then to bring their new knowledge and skills back into these communities at a later stage. It is also an opportunity to take advantage of the many attractions which Wellington has to offer in order to support the teaching of our term topics.

As you can imagine the costs of this trip are immense. We are actively fundraising but because of our isolation and small community we still require additional support in meeting our costs.
