contributions to the ongoing costs of running a residence for female monastics in Aotearoa
Nationwide
The New Zealand Bhikkhuni Sangha Trust established in 2012 raised funds to purchase a house in Hamilton to offer accommadation to buddhist nuns. This freehold residence is the focal point for the community to engage with the resident monastics for guidance, inspiration and dhamma teaching. The monastics are fully supportedby devotees and supporters for all their needs.
Our purpose is to support bhikkhunis (fully ordained female monastics) in the Theravada Buddhist tradition in Aotearoa/New Zealand and to offer teachings and meditation to the community. We run entirely on donations for all expenses.
