NZRT-12 Emergency Response / Rescue team

We are volunteers for the Emergency Response Rescue Team , Civil Defence USAR called NZRT-12, based in Rangiora, South Island, New Zealand.

We have helped out the community in many emergency events such as Earthquakes, Christchurch and Nelson floods, Christchurch Port Hills and Nelson Fires, Snow storms, Storm response, First aid support for many events and that is just the tip of the ice berg. We are the ones putting our boots on to go out and help others, when everyone else is heading inside to shelter out the storm, whatever part of the country that may be.

As a self-funded volunteer organization where all of our members are 100% volunteers, we are also always on the lookout for those who can help though donations or sponsorship so that we can continue to support our community and New Zealand to the best of our ability.

So what are we after?

We have done many sausage sizzles and have managed to scrape together almost enough but we need YOUR help to finish the job. We want to continue serving the community in the best way we can but we are a little short for our fundraising goals.

Our Fundraising Goals:

-Radios (UHF/VHF)

-satellite WiFi gear for our command trailer

-A new pump for fire and flood response

-First aid kits and Defibrillator

-Specialist Training on equipment and gear (such as driving in flood waters, or in fire situations)

-Specialist Harnesses and rope gear for emergency storm works

-Investing in the future; help us invest in a cadet to give a teenager a fantastic opportunity and skillset for serving the community

-and the list goes on.
