Support our rich and varied curriculum to meet the needs of our Barefoot Learners. Learning experiences to support wellbeing for all.
Wellington
We strive to provide our students with experiences that will give them the skills and knowledge to step out and make a positive difference in this world.
We have a distinctive connection to our surrounding environment. It grounds us and makes us aware of our unique culture and the strengths in being a strong connected community. We are proud of our history and being leaders in thriving as a sustainable and resilient community in the future. We recognise Paekākāriki as a place of connected leaders.
We call our tamariki Barefoot Learners.
Bare foot because they feel connected to their environment and their culture.
Grounded and quick of foot, free to explore but safe in their sense of connection to the people around them. They are adventurous and creative but smart to their surroundings. This is the Paekākāriki we cherish.
In order to meet the needs of our barefoot learners we strive to provide a range of learning opportunities both within and outside of our school environment. This can become expensive and so we rely on donations to make these experiences happen.
We are a small village school on the Kāpiti Coast. Tūrangawaewae (belonging), whanaungatanga (connecting), whakatōmene (exploring), whakapuāwai (thriving) are our guiding principles.
