New Plymouth, Taranaki
PARS Taranaki (Prisoner Aid & Reintegration Society Taranaki) works alongside people as they lease prison and rebuild their lives in the community. For many, release day comes with nothing but their steps to freedom.
Everyone’s reintegration journey is different. We tailor our support to meet individual needs, focusing first on stability - then on growth.
We work with people before and after release to ensure no one falls through the cracks. For many, leaving prison brings a mix of relief and uncertainty. We saw the gaps – people leaving without ID, housing, or support. So we stepped in. Our work began with a small group of volunteers determined to walk alongside people as they took their first steps home. Over the years, we’ve grown into a trusted, community-based service – supporting individuals, families and communities across Taranaki. We don’t judge where people have been. We focus on where they’re going. Your donation helps us provide practical, immediate support. Every dollar goes directly towards helping someone in Taranaki rebuild a stable life. This supports their whanau and the wider community. PARS is a non-profit registered charity. Helps us to make a difference.
