Help us revitalize! After 40 yrs we need an upgrade. $1M from donors needed. Join us in creating a vibrant space for education & community
Whangarei, Northland
For 40 years, Pātaua Outdoor Education and Recreation Trust (POERT) has been a provider of affordable outdoor education and character training – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual – for school-aged children and adolescents.
The facility is also the heart of the local Pātaua community - a safe and welcoming place that can support community hui, celebrations, arts, sport and recreation and offer a retreat in times of great need or major environmental events.
On April 11th 2023 this vital community facility closed as it is no longer fit for purpose. A plan is in place to revitalise this valuable space so it can once again provide unique experiences for our young people and be a much-needed hub for locals.
The new space will facilitate a better appreciation of our beautiful, rich ecosystems, our tenuous
environment, friendship, camaraderie and leadership for future generations.
But we need your help to bring this important community space back to life.
The POERT revitalisation project will cost approximately $4 Million.
We are seeking approximately $1,000,000 from private donors.
We would be so grateful for your support.
