Porirua Pasifika Community Patrols (PPCP) are made up of volunteers who desire to keep Porirua City a safe place to live for all communities and whānau. Our mission is to patrol the streets, report suspicious activities to the authorities, and act as additional eyes and ears for law enforcement. We help deter crime, increase public awareness, support safety of our community and participate in various community projects.
The areas we patrol in are Whitby, Aotea, Titahi Bay, Porirua CBD, Kenepuru, Cannons Creek and surrounding areas.
For the 2022/2023 year we travelled 2838km and volunteered 281 hours. Some of the incidences we reported to the Police to take further steps were 38 vehicle related incidences, 12 property related incidences and 16 people related incidences.
Our patrollers' presence makes a significant difference in keeping our community safe!
We are grateful for donations towards replacing our trusty (and getting crankier) patrol car with a more fuel efficient and environment friendly one!
