Creating a Kāpiti Coast where nature thrives.
Wellington, Kapiti Coast District
Predator Free Kāpiti Coast is a small group focused on supporting and coordinating the incredible mahi of many groups working on predator control and replanting across Kāpiti.
Imagine a Kāpiti Coast where birdlife is abundant, our neighbourhood parks and reserves are full of life, and our rural areas support green corridors stretching from the Tararua Range to Kāpiti Island.
We’re working alongside more than a dozen local groups to make this vision reality - support our work today.
WHAT WE DO
We support existing predator control groups through helping to share best practice, build connections across the coast, and provide access to advice and extra volunteers.
We connect with our counterparts across the Greater Wellington region so we can all work together towards our common goal - a predator free 2050.
We help to set up new groups in parts of our district where predator free work is currently missing, identifying potential leaders and providing them with the support they need to grow their own group.
We share information with those working in our district, including good news, innovative action, and funding opportunities.
