Raising funds for a haven where women facing unplanned pregnancies can receive information, resources, and support for their situation.
Dunedin, Otago
Pregnancy Choice Dunedin is a branch from the nationwide not for profit organisation Pregnancy Choice. We have been offering a safe space along with information and support to women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy within the Dunedin area since 2020. Attached to the centre is our charity store Inspire Upcycling, which acts as a way to service the wider community and to provide a comfortable environment for women to ask for help.
Our vision is for every woman in Aotearoa facing an unplanned pregnancy to have the opportunity to receive the help, information, and support they need to enable them to explore their options and make a well thought out decision in an unrushed and caring environment.
Pregnancy Choice offers a free service to all, including non-residents. Our approach is non-judgmental, non-religious, and welcoming to all cultures and nationalities. We are respectful of the clients right to choose what is best for her and her baby. We keep out of the pro-life/pro-choice debate and are simply here to help the women in need to make an informed and well thought out choice about her pregnancy and future.
Services we provide include:
- access to information about keeping their baby, abortion, adoption, whāngai and fostering
- Ongoing support
- Free pregnancy testing
- Post Abortion healing programme (Living in Colour)
- Referral to other agencies and support centres
- Help with baby clothing and gear
Pregnancy Choice Dunedin offers information and support to women facing an unexpected pregnancy. We provide a safe and understanding environment to discuss each individual’s unique situation to enable a conscious and wise choice.
