Empowering and supporting whānau during pregnancy and early childhood with free practical assistance and emotional support.
Hawke's Bay
Our branch in Hastings offers whānau a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental space where they can collect pre-loved baby clothing and equipment. Pregnancy and looking after young tamariki can add financial and emotional strain to any individual or household.
We are here to support women like Brenda who messaged us from her hospital bed with her three-week-old son:
“...Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything and every help you have given to me and my little family… I have nothing to repay you back nor a single cent… I have never felt so loved and so important from anyone as I did with you guys… A little thought of love and care I got from you is something I take away from, especially when my world came crashing down… Thank you for making me feel like I matter and that I’m someone.”
Brenda was living in cold, damp, cramped emergency housing, we were able to provide her and her baby with clothing, bedding, blankets, toys, nappies, a bassinet and baby bath. These items helped to keep her baby warm and safe at a very challenging time both emotionally and financially.
Funds raised will help us to continue this valuable work and make sure babies have what they need to get the best start in life.
We are proud to provide wāhine hapū and whānau with clothing, equipment and support during pregnancy and early childhood. We offer pre-loved baby clothing and equipment suitable for prem to 2 years old. All our services are free and available to everyone.
