PussN Boots Kitty Rescue

  • Rescue broken into cats stolen🤬

      17 October 2024

In the early morning of Friday Salenas home was broken into while she slept.

A newly caught kitten was taken from.his crate after they entered through the back door into thr dining room .Salena sleeping just meters away.

On further investigation our wild pregnant cat enclosure was also entered where 2 adult cats about to birth were taken.

A third cat we believe made her escape and we have her back and she birthed straight away.

For all the good that the team do at PNB this has been equally devastating and intrusive.

Salena has been left distraught and fearfuly future intrusions.

We have been left to find a way to ensure Sals safety and the animals too.

Please help us fund Gate alarms and locking systems for the cat enclosures.

This has been traumatic on Different levels .

Sal and the fur babies need some protection. The funds simply wouldn't stretch this far to purchase anything.

Thank you all for your support.

  • More Broken legs

We have received notification that there is another kitty with a broken leg. So that's 5 we know off.We have Rosa doing so well but she is going to take a lot of work after geing set back going to vets to have her leg looked at.

We need to able to spend a few days trapping these injured cats.

Please help us get them. We need to fund more holding crates. More food, wormers, transport costs, accommodation while we are there and most importantly the urgent vet care these animals will get.

These cats are being trapped by what appears to be a gin trap of sorts and what makes no sense is the releasing of them in this state.

We are so saddened by the cruelty some days it just brings us to tears then the anger and determination comes in. We need your help to be able to get cats like this everywhere the medical treatment they need .

We want to thank each and every one of you for your help. These fur babies need help now so we can take their pain away.

    Many thanks

    Sal

Rosa Must have been in so much pain when her leg was broken. Such a horrid thing to happen .Rosa is in safe hands now here at rescue but to think we have more like her with broken legs is just heart breaking. I will never understand why some people insist on hurting them.Makes our job so much harder , the anger is real, the tears are real the frustrations are real. Please please please don't hurt God's creatures . No one deserves this treatment.

Just another day of tears for me.

This morning I was dreading the visit to the vets with this beautiful broken legged kitten I knick named Rosa after one of the kind hearted men (Ross)that have been feeding and helping trap .

Rosa's leg has been badly broken and most likely released from a trap of sorts with enough power to break the leg severely.

Miss Rosa is recovering from her Sedation which was needed for her exam. Which we also discovered this little girl is also pregnant.. Rosa's leg has healed over in a way the foot potentially is useless. We are going to be monitoring her to see how much she uses it before we attempt amputation at the shoulder.please help us fund our rescue. These cats suffer terribly and need support and intervention.

Much love and heart felt gratitude for your support

Also if anyone finds gin traps please dispose of them. We cannot have people doing this harm to innocent animals. Just makes me so angry and so sad .

  • Tears , tears and more tears

As I sit here contemplating what to write., I wonder what poses people to hurt animals. Even if you don't like them there is no need to injure or kill them.

I have with a colleague just come back from an industrial area where it appears this is happening. Lots of cats but in particular 4 cats and 4 legs. I am left wondering what could cause these horrific injuries.

I bought one home and he needs front leg amputation ASAP.

It appears he has been like this for a couple of weeks and the break is going sideways. My heart broke but I was pleased to trap this friendly kitty. Please help us fund the operations needed.

We need to continue our work to trap the others and desex many that are also there. Right now our vet accounts ate at $6k from the 319 cats we have had. We get our accounts down and then back up but we urgently need to clear account and we would greatly appreciate your help. Photos to come

    Many thanks Sal

  • Scar

      3 April 2024

The latest Photo is of a beautiful little boy named Scar, He came to us with badly infected leg abscess and respiratory infection, he was treated for all his ailments and given over 2 weeks isolation. Scar is a beautiful boy, who woke a few mornings ago and could not move, His back end legs had given up and he was crying. Easter Sunday and there was no option but for us to bundle Scar up and head to see one of our Methven Vets. With fluids and antibiotics and pain relief this young boy is getting stronger every day, potentially he may have had a bowel obstruction. We will keep updating in Scars progress.

Thank you to all for donating, We currently have desexed and re-homed over 1000 cats and kittens , We cannot do this alone.

We are doing community desexing almost every week ATM and we are extremely low in funds, we appreciate you all for wanting to help us in in our journey to give the animals a voice.

  • January a massive undertaking!!

      4 February 2024
    Main image

January has seen a massive 96 Desexing procedures done with over 150 Vet visits. To say we have been flat out is an understatement. our team are constantly under the pump ,We are trying to get as many kittens into New homes now as we can, Food bill is estimated at close to a Thousand a week, and after putting $2000 down at the vets before Desexing we now owe $12000 just for January. We are left completely overwhelmed with these costs however the fact 96 cats and kittens can longer not breed is fantastic, We have stopped thousands of unwanted fur babies from being born. These animals are made up of surrender kittens, dumped kittens and Community Desexing with only 1 percent wild. So massive pats on the back to my whole team. So we are desperately looking for sponsors so we can get this account paid so we can take the next intake done aswell as they just keep coming and if we don't pay the vet we simply won't be able to help any more.Thank you all for your support in #helpustohelpthem!

  • Saddest of days.

Yesterday saw 2 phone calls with found kittens on a farm.

Kittens in distress and extremely poor condition. Under 3 weeks old and less than 200 grams each, Eyes had literally been destroyed with infection, this was hurrendous in every way. A late afternoon vet visit(first visit) and then a second visit after hours( 2nd kitten).

Both babies were suffering so badly. We were left shaken and so deeply affected by this. No animal should be left to suffer so in both cases we did what any responsible person would do, Euthanasia was the kindest thing we could do for these beautiful animals. If only the mother cat was desexed and vaccinated , this would of been a call we didn't.have to make.

The toll emotionally on us as we wear our hearts on our sleeves and take rescue seriously, it affects us greatly in many ways.

It also drives us to ensure we keep talking and encouraging people to take responsibility for their fur family.

Please think of PussN Boots and the work we do and donate if you can. If your work place donates at Christmas to charities please consider nominating us. Please help us to help them.

  • And another fur baby

      13 November 2023

    Good morning 🌞

Beautiful but windy day here in Methven. We set the trap last night in the aim to catch more of the dumped kittens on the highway. Mum has got 3 more babies to get after we successfully trapped another boy, a little brown tabby all of 5 weeks old. I'm sitting here yawning away as so tired but will be out again tonight, We must get them all before they are hawk food. It's so disappointing that people continue to dump . We here at PNB won't give up, We will continue untill we have them all. This baby will be vet checked and all the necessary requirements will be given, Thank you for helping us to help the animals. It's very simple really, if we don't stand up and do this they will either die or eventually be labelled Feral , they will kill the wild life for survival, they have no choice. In the meantime that's another we have saved which will be desexed, vaccinated and chipped before finding a forever home. Please keep donating. We need your help so we can keep doing this important role.

    Signing of for now

    Salena🙏🙏🙏

  • Kittens by the day

      12 November 2023

The phone keeps ringing for help, there's only so much we can do, We know we can't save them all but goodness we try. This gets us very emotional as we make the hard decisions. We work so hard to find a solution for every situation and sometimes it's just not ideal.

Right now we have never been so busy and as good as it is it saddens us that so many unwanted animals are discarded like trash on the dump heap. Our teams are working trapping mums and babies, all hours of the day and night to help these animals. We are all volunteers who are passionate about doing the right thing. Please help us continue this journey to help as many as we can. All donations go into medical care including

desexing , nutritional requirements and trapping equipment. Thank you for following PussN Boots journey.

For nearly all of the intakes in the last 2 weeks , the situation has been the same, unwanted and dumped !

Currently 24 kittens and 7 mums all requiring live and support, Medi great and have nutritional needs. Dumping unwanted animals is not ok and so the Team @ PussN Boots are here to act as the voice for these vulnerable animals. Please support us as we need as much financial assistance as possible. One family consisting of Mum, and 3 kittens has a medical bill of approximately $700 - 850$ for desexing ,and urgent care treatment. We have so many cat families come in after being discarded on the side of the road and we need your help. Please consider donating and helping us act for these beautiful beings.Folliw us in Facebook

  • New outdoor enclosure

      19 October 2023
    Main image

    Hi team

Today was a great day as our newest enclosure arrived. We were super lucky to purchase this at a fantastic price. The catch was it needs a floor as it goes not have one. We are fundraising right now to get materials for the flooring and extra wire to double the wall strength. This is fabulous for in coming animals who need time to adjust or rehabilitate. We also have our cation that we want to get up. The quicker we can get these up the better for the animals. We are definitely looking forward to seeing be everything completed and being used for the most vulnerable. PussN Boots strive to help as many animals as we can. We need lots of help along the way. If you think you would like to help , please consider a regular donation to our give a little or our business account. Thank you in advance for wanting to help us help the animals in need x

Salena here , founder and Manager of PussN Boots, 🥾

Firstly I want to thank our supporter's , your generosity is amazing 😍

I want to reach out far and wide and plead for help, I honestly have no idea how to get through this coming season , Now don't get me wrong our determination to succeed is relentless. We spend our days talking to as many people as we can and fundraising however funding everyday running and

Vet accounts are crippling us and I don't know how we can keep going with so little in coming. We are struggling to pay this past seasons accounts due to the high level of veterinary visits .We average 150+ cats and kittens a season and while that does not sound a lot it definitely is huge with a large yearly expenditure. Watching these animals become healthy , trusting and completely flourish is our inspiration, it's amazing to see the difference we make, and of course all the desexing prevents thousands of unwanted kittens, we simply cannot do it alone. My team demonstrate full commitment to PussN Boots and to the animals and always go the extra mile. Today I am asking for you to share and donate if you can. Please help us make a difference in the animals lives , remember every $1 counts. Much 💕

    Sal
